GREENSBORO — John Isner is now at No. 8 in the ATP World Tour's singles rankings, the best of his career.
The Greensboro native reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last week and advanced two spots on the new list released today.
Isner had been No. 9, equaling his previous career best, for seven consecutive weeks this season, having moved up eight spots after winning the Miami Open, a masters event, on April 1. That performance also put him back into the top 10 for the first time since 2014.
Isner, a Page High School and University of Georgia alumnus who lives in Dallas, has been ranked among the top 10 for 14 consecutive weeks, the longest such stretch of a pro career that dates to 2007.
