John Isner and his wife, Madison, are expecting a second child.
And they made the public announcement in a very Isner manner: on a tennis court with an explosive serve.
Yep. It's a boy. Blue smoke from an exploding tennis ball tells the story in a video announcement posted on the ATP Tour's official Twitter account.
The Isners' first child, a daughter named Hunter Grace, was born September 15.
Isner, a 34-year-old Greensboro native, is the top American tennis player in the world rankings at No. 9.
He hasn't played since suffering a stress fracture in his left foot during the finals of the Miami Open against Roger Federer. Isner is expected back for the Madrid Open in Spain, which starts Sunday.
Isner, who starred at Page High and was an NCAA All-America at Georgia before turning pro in 2007, had his best pro season on the ATP Tour last year. He won tournaments in Miami and Atlanta, reached the semifinals at Wimbledon, the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open and played in the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals for the first time.
