A big recruiting week continues Tuesday morning, and North Carolina is favored to land the best player left on the board.
Cole Anthony, the third-ranked player in the Class of 2019 is scheduled to announce his commitment at 8:50 a.m. live on ESPN's "Get Up," choosing between the Tar Heels, Georgetown, Oregon and Notre Dame.
A son of former UNLV and NBA guard Greg Anthony, the younger Anthony finished with 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds en route to being named MVP of the McDonald's All-American game earlier this month, followed by a 25-point effort to win MVP at the Nike Hoop Summit. Over the weekend, Anthony was named co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic after scoring 25 points.
Anthony, a 6-3, 185-pound combo guard, is capable of handling the ball or working on the wing where his speed and elite athleticism benefit his aggressive, attacking style.
After beginning his high school career at New York's Archbishop Molloy, Anthony moved on to Oak Hill Academy for his senior season, where the Warriors' national schedule gave him an opportunity to compete against elite talent regularly. Last summer on the Nike EYBL circuit, Anthony averaged 26.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
Of experts that have logged predictions in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, 93 believe Anthony will choose the Tar Heels, including director of recruiting Evan Daniels.
