To the editor:
I feel that the federal government should strongly consider moving the Grand Canyon out of Arizona. Obviously, a state whose electorate rejected a paid holiday for M.L. King Jr. does not deserve a national park.A more suitable location would be Washington, D.C., where the Congress has already proven itself to be excellent at digging holes.
In addition, the Phoenix Suns and Cardinals should be barred from participating in the NBA and the NFL, respectively. There would of course be no Cactus League exhibition baseball in Arizona from this time forth.
For the time being I will defer judgment on the need to erect a Berlin-style wall around the state to protect us decent folks from the evil citizens of Arizona. Bud Talley Randleman
