To the editor:
This letter is to publicly thank Mr. Dover, principal of Western Guilford High School for his kindness to me and all the High Point Andrews soccer fans.Being a handicapped person and a very proud grandparent of a High Point Andrews soccer player, I called Mr. Dover on Monday before the semi-final 3A State Tournament game on Tuesday night to inquire what provisions they had for the handicapped. He said since their soccer field was still under development the provisions were not good but he would meet me there Tuesday night and see that I would be able to get to the field.
When I arrived Tuesday night Mr. Dover was personally down on the field laboring to make the field accessible. They had worked all day Tuesday and had built a ramp making it possible to drive within a few feet of the stands. When the game was over Mr. Dover was there to assure we had no problem backing down the ramp.
It makes me feel good knowing we have people like Mr. Dover looking after our young people.
Mr. Dover was so nice I almost felt bad that we beat his team, but with Mr. Dover's spirit he would expect me to be proud of our win. C. Max Ferree High Point
