GREENSBORO Marie Belinsky peacefully passed on to be with the Lord on May 4, 2018, surrounded by family in her apartment at Friends Home Guilford. Marie was born Mae Marie Neff in Comins, MI, on June 25, 1926. She met the love of her life, George Belinsky, on a blind date in 1944. He was dressed in his Marine Corps dress blues and it was a "done deal" for her. They married in 1945 and had two children. When George passed in 1986, Marie remained in Michigan until 1995, then moved to Greensboro, NC to be with her daughter and son-in-law. She quickly made friends and became an active member of Christ Community Church. Marie had a long career of 50 years as an accountant; however, her favorite times were spent cooking and baking pies for family and friends. Marie enjoyed writing poetry and loved traveling wherever anyone was willing to go. She loved the Lord, was a faithful, devoted friend and mother, and was always more interested in how you were doing than talking about herself. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rosa Neff; husband of 41 years, George Belinsky; sister, Clara Martin; brothers, Carl Neff, John Neff, Robert Neff, Elmer Neff, Rolla Neff and Curtis Neff. She is survived by son, Ronald G. Belinsky and daughter-in-law Lisa of Grand Ledge, Michigan; and daughter, Marcia H. Hobson and son-in-law Thomas J. Hobson of Greensboro, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the special staff at Friends Home for caring for Marie with such tenderness and love during her illness. There are no words to express our gratefulness. Thank you to Hospice of Greensboro for your support and guidance. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Friends Home Guilford, 925 New Garden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410 or Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405. There will be a celebration of life for Marie on May 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Friends Home Guilford in the Living Room, with visitation following the service. Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel is assisting the Belinsky family.
