Cat Blake, 44, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.A memorial service and visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Forbis & Dick n North Elm Street.

Born in Guilford County, Cat was a graduate of Page High School.

She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Blake.

For many years, Cat worked for the auto parts industry, including 20 + years as manager for Carquest on Grecade Street and most recently as manager for NAPA Auto Parts on Battleground Avenue.

Cat was an avid animal lover and a huge Carolina fan. Her warm smile and free spirit will be missed by all the hearts that she touched.

Survivors include mother Faye Russell Blake; sister Linda Blake Gray; closest and dearest friend that she shared her home with, Holly Newnam; lifelong friend, Jane Black; her beloved pets, Tucker, Sadie & Ranger Bob; Arthur Russell and wife Linda of Oak Ridge; and many, many loving friends.

Family and friends would like to thank the staff of Moses Cone MICU (especially Charles Benton), Dr. Tannenbaum and staff, Dr. Sherrill and staff and the many other health care professionals that assisted Cat during her illness. The family would also like to thank Napa Auto Parts for their unwavering support and kindness.
