STURDIVANTJames Frank (Boot) Sturdivant, son of Annie Cash Sturdivant and the late Edward Frank Sturdivant, was born in Anson County on Oct. 29, 1944. He departed this life on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. Phillips A.M.E. Zion Church. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Carolina Biblical Gardens.

He was employed by the City of Greensboro, where he worked in the solid waste management department.

James leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Annie J. Sturdivant of Morven; his devoted and loving wife, Nannie Craig Sturdivant; two sons, Aaron C. Sturdivant of Morven and Norman E. Craig of Marion; two daughters, Tonya M. White (Harold) and Shamecka Barnes, both of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Darryl T. Webster, Donte L. Moore and Quanesha E. Moore; one great-grandchild, Diamond Webster; one special nephew, Lamont Sturdivant; two brothers, Bobby T. Sturdivant of Polkton and the Rev. Charles E. Sturdivant (Mary) of Morven; one sister, Brenda E. S. Rorie (Wiley); four aunts, Hershell Cash, Mamie Cash, Bertha Cash and Boss Sturdivant; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
