GREENSBORO —A man whom police questioned in connection with a bank robbery that happened this afternoon in Greensboro was not the bank robber, police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen said.

Police responded about 1:40 p.m. to reports of a bank robbery at New Bridge Bank, 124 N. Elm St., Danielsen said.

A man who walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said.

The man left the store with an unknown amount of money.

Police found a stack of bills near The Depot in downtown Greensboro shortly after the robbery.

A K-9 officer was used to search the area.

GREENSBORO — A man robbed a downtown Greensboro bank this afternoon.

Dispatchers received a call about 1:40 p.m. about a man who walked into New Bridge Bank, 124 N. Elm St.,(Information has been changed to correct an error. See correction below.) and handed a teller a note demanding money.

The man left the store with an unknown amount of money.

Guilford County deputies have a man in custody who fit a description of the man who robbed the bank.
