GREENSBORO — Severe storms are possible across the central North Carolina today.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh forecasters said to expect scattered strong to severe storms are expected this afternoon through the evening.
Areas north and east of the Triangle have the best chance to see severe storms.
Greensboro has an 80 percent change of precipitation.
The storms could produce wind gusts over 60 mph, frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and subsequent urban and stream flooding.
