Storm threat for July 11, 2019

GREENSBORO — Scattered thunderstorms will develop across central North Carolina this afternoon with a few storms producing damaging down-burst winds, excessive lightning and very heavy rains, meteorologists said.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh said widespread and impactful storms are likely to develop and move across central North Carolina between 4 p.m. and 10 pm. Thursday. 

The slow-moving storms could lead to a flood risk later this evening.
