GREENSBORO — Drivers and residents along a section of Pleasant Garden Road might notice an unpleasant odor or see bursts of flame periodically over the next week.
Don't worry or call 911, Piedmont Natural Gas says. Workers are just conducting routine pipeline maintenance near 4300 Pleasant Garden Road, the utility said this week in a news release.
The work, which started today and is expected to run through May 28, includes the use of a large vertical pipe, called a flare stack, which could produce loud noises and a tall flame, Piedmont Natural Gas said. There also could be a whistling sound or the smell of natural gas, the utility said.
