Four Rockingham County schools are dismissing students for the day due to power outages and storm damage.

Reidsville High School, Reidsville Middle School, Bethany Elementary and Monroeton Elementary Schools are closing, a news release from Rockingham County Schools stated.

Power was expected to be restored at the schools by 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Schools officials said when that didn't happen they felt it was in the student's best interest to close for the day.

Students will not have to make up a school day because of the closure.

Reidsville High School will push back testing by one day.

The last day of school remains June 6 with a two-hour early release.
