What happened: Greensboro City Council changed the name of the Charles B. Aycock Historic District to the Dunleath Historic District on Tuesday. The name honors the long-gone mansion of Robert Dick, whose family was among the earliest residents of what became the Aycock neighborhood. Dunleath residents voted on the name change after the middle school in the neighborhood changed its name from Aycock to Swann in honor of former school administrator Mel Swann.

Vote: 9-0

What’s next: It’s official: one of the city’s three historic districts is named Dunleath.
