WINSTON-SALEM — Thirteen people convicted in a widespread mortgage fraud scheme involving a High Point-based company were sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Winston-Salem.

All had earlier pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit loan, mail, wire and bank fraud. One also pleaded guilty to charges of promotion of money laundering and making a false statement to a federal agency.

Federal indictments charged that employees of Oasis Mortgage Co. at 3929 Tinsley Drive, Suite 102, routinely provided lenders with false information to get loans approved that might otherwise be rejected. Investigators say the employees recruited five outsiders to provide fake documents to verify the false loan information.

U.S. District Court Judge James Beaty sentenced the 13 people as follows:

• James Lester Penniegraft, 6702 Bugle Run Drive in Oak Ridge, 60 months in prison, three years of supervised probation and 300 hours of community service.

• Earl Dwayne Boss, 17 Mobile St. in Greensboro, 33 months in prison, three years of supervised probation and 150 hours of community service.

• Orlando Burton, 3114 Peninsula Drive in Jamestown, 30 months in prison, three years of supervised probation and $93,055 in restitution.

• Tommy Penniegraft, 710 Mobile St. in Greensboro, 28 months in prison and three years of supervised probation.

• Sandra Banks Thompson, 6311 High View Road in Guilford County, 26 months in prison, three years of supervised probation and 150 hours of community service.

• Dante Rashad Penniegraft, 3910 Hickory Tree Lane in Guilford County, 26 months in prison and three years of supervised probation.

• Deborah Penniegraft Mapp, 621 Tillman St. in Burlington, 18 months in prison and three years of supervised probation.

• Herman Gene McBride, 2304 Revolan Drive in Greensboro, five months in prison, five months of home confinement, two years of supervised probation and a $5,000 fine.

• Joann Penniegraft Cheek, 2302 Yorkshire Drive in Guilford County, five months in prison, five months of home confinement, three years of supervised probation and 200 hours of community service.

• Stanley Tyrone Montgomery, 4210 Clovelly Drive in Greensboro, three years of probation and a $5,000 fine.

• Valerie Kaye Penniegraft, 101 Somerset Court in Mebane, two years of probation and 150 hours of community service.

• Ann Marie Caudill, 115 Delray Ave. near Horneytown, two years of probation and 150 hours of community service.

• Stevie Louis Graves, 619 Avon Ave. Apt. 1 in Burlington, 41/2 months in prison and 41/2 months of home confinement.
