TRINITY — A woman has been charged following the death of a toddler and the hospitalization of another, according to a press release.
On Sept. 1, Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded with Randolph County Emergency Services to Jerry Street, Trinity, in reference to a toddler in cardiac arrest.
The child was transported to the Thomasville Medical Center Emergency Department where the child later passed away.
Investigators responded to the Thomasville Medical Center Emergency Department and contacted Randolph County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services.
During the investigation into the condition and possible cause of the child's death, investigators learned that another child living at the same Jerry Street address had been sent to Brenner's Children's Hospital at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
Investigators learned the second child was suffering from similar medical issues. The child has since been released and DSS has taken custody of the child.
