An altercation that began in one mobile home park and continued at another resulted in an assault, kidnapping and an hours-long standoff, according to a news release from the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
Kevin Davis, 43 and Shannon Davis, 40, both of 724 Morton Drive, Burlington, are each charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping, second-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the release.
The incident began with a fight between the Davises and the alleged victims, Ashley Ayers, Corey King and Dreymon Parker at a trailer park on U.S. 70 just inside Guilford County line.
The fight moved to Reedy Fork Mobile Home Park in Ossipee, where a burglary occurred at one trailer. Ayers was hit with a firearm used like a club and dragged by a vehicle driven by one of the Davises, according to the release. The other two victims were taken at gunpoint from Reedy Fork and were released on N.C. 87 near Shallowford Church Road.
On Saturday, deputies went to arrest the Davises at their residence. They refused to surrender at first, but eventually did after several hours of negotiations, according to the release.
Bail for Shannon Davis was set at $250,000 and $500,000 for Kevin Davis.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Alamance County Sheriff's Office at 336-570-6300 or the Gibsonville Police Department at 336-449-4144.
