SILER CITY — A man wanted in a stabbing assault that occurred in a Walmart parking lot in Siler City is in custody for attempted first-degree murder after being arrested by Asheboro Police Saturday.
Surveillance footage from the Walmart shows two suspects fleeing the Walmart parking lot on March 4 after allegedly stabbing a victim.
That victim was reported to be in stable condition a few days after the incident.
According to an arrest report, Luis Gomez Sesmas, 19, of 846 Mountain Road, Asheboro, was located and arrested at his address shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.
Sesmas is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
He is being held in the Randolph County Jail under a $1.5 million secured bond.
A second suspect involved in the same incident was arrested Aug. 1 by the Siler City Police Department and the Asheboro Police Department.
Carlos Alejandro Cesmas Gomez was charged with several felonies, including attempted first-degree murder.
He is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.
