Barton College's School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts invited students in seventh through 12th grades from eastern and central North Carolina to submit artwork for the Scholastic Art Awards for Eastern/Central North Carolina exhibition. The annual Eastern/Central N.C. Scholastic Art Awards ceremony was Feb. 10.
Gold Key winners included: Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, Charlotte Curri; Greensboro Day School, Jiachen Ren, Cameron Pinkelton (Portfolio Gold Key), Clayton Stinnett, Nicklaus Li (three Gold Keys and N.C. Art Education Association Award), Camden Snyder (three Gold Keys), Siyu Wan, Claire Walthall, Logan Forbis and Jingshu Wu; and Wheatmore High School, Ashton Abee and Jade Morgan. Abee's entry was a digital animation short, "Pet Store Part I."
Silver Keys: Greensboro Day School, Camden Snyder (four Silver Keys), Cameron Pinkelton (two Silver Keys), Cady He, Yihui Li and Jingshu Wu; Northwest Guilford High School, Jackson Clifton; Page High School, Lou Wright; and Wheatmore High, Rachael Tilley.
