The “Arrington” triplets — Lynda Eckler, Nancy Farlow and Jeanie Wyrick — celebrated their 78th birthday on Sept. 21.
Cities: Eckler and Wyrick reside in Greensboro, and Farlow lives in Asheville. Their parents (deceased) were Gaston and Nellie Mae Arrington of Liberty.
Fun fact: They remain very close friends-sisters.

Dorothy Hickman Keller turns 111 on Sept. 28.
History: Keller was born in Philadelphia. She has led an extraordinary life — from owning a hardware store, to traveling, seeing both World Wars, cars and paved roads, electricity and phones, air travel, computers, air conditioning to amazing medical advances. According to the Gerontology Research Group, she is the 27th oldest American.
Family: Keller has a daughter, Barbara Keller McLeod, with whom she shares a home and birthday. Son Howard Keller died in March 2017 at 88. Her husband, Marvin, died in 1976 after 49 years of marriage. She has six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Fun facts: Keller has never eaten butter or cheese but loves ice cream. Her favorite food is miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
