The Randolph County Agricultural Extension Service and the Randolph County Extension Homemakers Association are sponsoring one-day holiday crafts workshops.
The classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the Ira McDowell Governmental Center in Asheboro.Participants may register for one or both of the following classes:
Woodcarving Santas: Taught by Emily Couch and Glee Arnold, Davidson County extension homemakers, the class will focus on carving techniques from beginner to advanced levels. Class supplies will cost about $10. Participants are encouraged to bring their own knife and may register for either the Friday or Saturday session.
Painted Sweatshirts: Taught by Margie Stidham, a member of the Balfour Extension Homemakers Club. Participants will complete two sweatshirts in one day. A Christmas tree design and a poinsettia design will be taught Friday; a Christmas tree design and a Santa design will be taught Saturday. Cost of supplies is $5 for each project. Participants should bring their own sweatshirts, brushes and a large piece of cardboard.
Registration fee is $1 for each day's workshop.
