Wine festival will be May 18

The annual Yadkin Valley Wine Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Elkin Municipal Park in Elkin.

The festival will feature wines from about 25 wineries in the Yadkin Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA) of North Carolina.

Live music will be provided by the Legacy Motown Revue from noon until 2 p.m. and the Catalinas from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The festival also will include a grape stomp and other activities for kids. Food vendors will include Dewey’s Bakery, King Queen Haitian, 13 Bones and more.

Admission is $22 in advance or $30 at the gate. Admission for active-duty military personnel and military retirees (with Defense Department photo ID card) is $20 at the gate. Admission is free for those who choose not to possess, consume or buy wines and for those under 21.

Parking costs $5, with proceeds benefiting Elkin Rescue Squad.
