GREENSBORO — Greenfield’s NY Deli and Bagels opened at 2130 New Garden Road, Suite G in Battlefield Center shopping center at Battleground Avenue.
Tom Cassano and his son Anthony Cassano opened the deli, which specializes in Jewish-style kosher items and sandwiches like the Rachel, Reuben and corned beef tongue served on a choice of bagel or bread. Sides include items like cucumber salad or potato salad, coleslaw and baba ghanoush.
The shop boils and bake its own New York-style bagels in a variety of flavors with 10 homemade cream cheese spreads.
Imported smoked fish, such as nova and whitefish, are available on a bagel.
Bagel breakfast sandwiches are available.
The deli is the one and only franchise of Greenfield's Bagels and Deli in Greenville, S.C.
Robin Greenfield opened the South Carolina deli 18 years ago.
Cassano has been a friend of Greenfield for 15 years since eating one of her bagels while visiting Greenville. After failing to get Greenfield to open a deli in Greensboro, Cassano convinced her to franchise the deli so that he could open one.
Hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The restaurant's phone is 336-860-0630 or follow Greenfield's NY Deli & Bagels on Facebook.
