Let It Grow Produce at 4825 Country Club Road will close at the end of May.

Owner Rebecca Zollicoffer announced on Facebook on May 7 that she will close the store May 25.

“Our passion for local, sustainable produce and goods has not diminished, so we are working on a ‘plan b’ and will let everyone know when we figure out what that looks like,” she said in the post. “Thank you all for your support and for those who understood what we were trying to accomplish here. Now, onward, local lovers!”

Zollicoffer said in a telephone interview that she is working on some new ideas but does not have any announcement to make yet.

“What I can say is I feel like we can better serve the community in a different location and different format,” she said.

Zollicoffer opened Let It Grow Produce in 2010 on Jonestown Road in Winston-Salem as an open-air market. In 2011, she moved into a building on Country Club Road, and for many people it has become an alternative to farmers markets, offering a wide range of locally grown produce, meats, dairy and other foods.

Let It Grow's neighbor, JuggHeads Growlers & Pints, 4843 Country Club Road, will be the site of a farewell party for Let It Grow from 6 to 10 p.m. May 25.
