Bestselling children’s/young adult author Jason Reynolds will appear at a free public reading and book signing on April 24.

The 7 p.m. event will be at Union Square Auditorium, 124 East Gate City Blvd., and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. It is hosted by Scuppernong Books and Greensboro Bound Literary Festival.

Reynolds is the author of the Track series ("Ghost," "Patina," "Sunny," and "Lu"), "When I Was the Greatest" and "Long Way Down," which received a Newbery Honor and a Printz Honor.

The New York Times bestselling author also will speak at Wiley Middle School in Winston-Salem on April 25. Reynolds and Simon & Schuster will donate special editions of "Ghost" to each student as a part of #IndiesGiveBack, in conjunction with Scuppernong Books and Greensboro Bound. Scuppernong Books participated in #IndiesGiveBack, an American Booksellers Association initiative, last fall and donated "Ghost" to the fifth graders at Morehead Elementary in Greensboro. The event eventually led to Scuppernong and Greensboro Bound hosting the two Triad events.
