Lannette West and Stacey Troy of Asheville Roberson toppled sisters Chau Dang and Tam Dang of Northeast Guilford 6-4, 6-0 to win the doubles championship in the Class 3-A Girls Tennis Tournament on Thursday at Renaissance Park.
The Dang sisters advanced to the finals by defeating Susanne Schweizer and Lara Daniels of Statesville 6-1, 6-3.Melody Drenning of Asheville Roberson downed Southeast's Dana Allen 6-0, 2-6, 6-0 in the semifinals and then defeated Daniela Klabin of Greenville Conley 6-4, 6-3 to win the singles title.

Goldsvoro wins 4-A title
Goldsboro edged Fayetteville Terry Sanford by two points Thursday to win its third Class 4-A Girls Tennis Tournament in the past four years.
Daniela Marx and Lee Worrell defeated the Hickory doubles team of Elizabeth Donovan and Liz Tuttle 6-2, 6-0, enabling the Lady Cougars to win the title at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Goldsboro scored 18 points to win the team championship, followed by Terry Sanford's 16, Charlotte Myers Park's 13, Hickory's 10 and Chapel Hill's nine.
Charlotte Catholic wins RALEIGH - Charlotte Catholic held on to its first-day lead to win the Class 1-A/2-A State Tennis Tournament on Thursday at N.C. State.
Charlotte Catholic scored 19 points to capture the title. Union Pines was second with 12 followed by Mount Airy with 10.
Laura Cowman of Charlotte Catholic downed Elizabeth Bell of Mount Airy 6-4, 6-3 to capture the singles' crown and Julie Brown and Melissa King of Starmount defeated Elise Marion and Teresa Furr of Union Pines 7-6, 6-2 to win the doubles title.
