ADVERTISEMENT FOR PROPOSALS FOREST OAKS LOOP WATER LINE EXTENSION CONTRACT NO. 2017-071 CITY OF GREENSBORO, NC Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Greensboro, NC, in the Engineering Conference Room located on the 3rd floor of the City of Greensboro's Melvin Municipal Office Building. Bids will be received up to 2:00 p.m. local time, on Thursday, February 13, 2020, for the above listed contract as shown in the plans and described in the Contract documents. The Melvin Municipal Office building is located at 300 West Washington Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. The work in this contract consists of largely 12" and 16" water line installation by trenching, bore and jack directional boring and dry bore methods with traditional appurtenances. Additionally, at two locations not along the water line route, actuated valves and meters will be installed in a vault with SCADA and security facilities. Sealed proposals and M/WBE Good Faith Efforts must be submitted on the blank forms provided and as specified in the bound copies of the contract documents. The bid shall be enclosed in two different sealed envelopes addressed to Mr. John Fersner, Engineering Division, 300 West Washington Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401. The outside of each of the envelopes shall be plainly marked with the Project Name; Contract Number; the name, address and license number of the Bidder; and with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" and the other envelope with the MWBE participation noted as "MWBE GOOD FAITH EFFORTS. Plans and specifications may be purchased from the City of Greensboro for a non-refundable fee of $150.00 payable by check to "The City of Greensboro". Mailing costs will be $25.00 per set or charged to the contractor's shipping account. Neither OWNER nor ENGINEER will be responsible for copies of the Bidding Documents obtained from sources other than the City of Greensboro. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00am Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Melvin Municipal Office Building 3rd Floor Engineering Conference Room located at 300 West Washington Street. City of Greensboro personnel will discuss MWBE requirements and the ENGINEER will be available to discuss the Contract and answer pertinent questions. Attendance is strongly encouraged. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids or to award such contract as in its judgment is deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
