Vocalist and songwriter Dara Tucker has established a distinctive sound by fusing the melodic and lyrical strains of the central plains with the risk-taking verve of roots and contemporary music. Tucker performs with her band featuring guitarist and bandleader Charlie Hunter, drummer Geoff Clapp, and Nashville guitarist JP Ruggieri. Tucker will premier new songs from her new CD 'The Seven Colors" — a project that showcases Dara's seven musical influences of jazz, soul, gospel, Americana, pop, singer-songwriter and theater.
Earlier this summer, Dara's new album "The Seven Colors" debuted at No. 6 on the ITUNES Jazz Charts. She also co-wrote and sang on "Oklahoma", the title track to Keb Mo's 2019 album. As a performer, Dara Tucker has opened for vocalist Gregory Porter, guested with Vince Gill and The Time Jumpers has toured with Charlie Hunter , appeared on NPR's Jazz Night in America and made her U.S. national television debut on The Tavis Smiley Show on PBS. Additionally, Dara is the winner of the Johnny Mercer Award (2018), was the silver medalist (2017) in the American Traditions Vocal Competition and captured Song of the Year (2017) honors at the Nashville Independent Music Awards.
