That's how much runners and friends raised for Rebecca Sarver and her family at Monday night's She Believed She Could So She Did 5K and 10K, hosted by Fleet Feet Sports in Greensboro.
Tara Frame, a friend who helped organized the event, reports that donations totaled $6,908. The fundraiser runs, in which about 200 people participated, were created to assist with the family's expenses.
"What an amazing turnout of love and support for one of our running family," Frame says.
Sarver, 47, has been diagnosed for a second time with small cell ovarian cancer.
