GREENSBORO —Here’s an emergency assistance ministry that’s going one step beyond helping in a crisis.

High Point’s Helping Hands Emergency Assistance Ministry is holding a healthcare job fair on June 20 designed to give a boost to unemployed people and those who already work in healthcare.

The group offers food assistance, but its goal for the job fair is to give its clients and other people in the community a shot at entering the growing health care industry.

It's one more way that this community can find jobs for people who might need a little more training.

And healthcare is a very strong industry, so the jobs are there.

Representatives from NC A&T and GTCC will be at the fair to explain their training programs. Even workers who already have skills can upgrade them in the right training program.

Helping Hands said in a news release that such agencies as Hospice of the Piedmont, Brookdale and Spring Arbor Assisted Living will also be at the fair to recruit applicants.

Need another incentive to go to the fair? Helping Hands will be giving out free work uniforms for those who can offer proof that they’re working in healthcare or who get a new job at the fair.

WHAT: Healthcare Job Fair
